Privacy Policy for ToolPuff BrowseMind

ToolPuff BrowseMind ("BrowseMind", "we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension processes, why, and how you can control it.

1. What data BrowseMind processes

BrowseMind processes browsing-activity data needed to generate usage reports and in-extension insights, including:

  • Active tab URL, domain, and page title
  • Time spent on active tabs/pages
  • Timestamps (start/end time, hour/day patterns)
  • Interaction signals (scroll depth/delta, clicks, keypress, mouse movement)
  • Tab/session signals (tab switches, revisits, opened/closed tabs, abandoned tabs)
  • Locally generated analytics and summaries (categories, topics, focus/distraction metrics, trends)
  • User-provided settings and content:
    • Pet/profile settings
    • Goals
    • Reminder settings
    • Checklist items
    • Learning cards
    • Excluded domains and work-domain overrides

BrowseMind does not intentionally collect passwords, OTP codes, payment card numbers, or private message contents.

2. How data is used

BrowseMind uses data only to provide extension features, such as:

  • Daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Behavioral and focus insights
  • On-screen pet reminders/bubbles
  • Chat answers related to your report data
  • User-configured reminders, countdowns, and checklist support

3. Where data is stored

  • Data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.
  • BrowseMind is designed to run client-side; your browsing data is not sold.
  • Backup export/import is user-initiated and stored/transferred by you as JSON.
  • To keep performance stable, old data may be compacted or pruned when storage grows large (for example, older records beyond retention limits).

4. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data.

We do not share your browsing data with advertisers or data brokers.

Data may be disclosed only if required by law.

5. Permissions

BrowseMind requests:

  • storage: save your settings and analytics data locally
  • tabs: detect active tab changes for analytics
  • alarms: run reminders/timers
  • idle: avoid counting time when user is idle
  • host_permissions: <all_urls>: classify and analyze active pages across websites you visit

6. User controls

You can control or delete your data at any time:

  • Pause/resume tracking
  • Exclude specific domains from tracking
  • Enable strict privacy mode
  • Disable pet bubbles (including fact/wellness controls)
  • Clear memories/report data
  • Delete data for a selected day
  • Export or import backup data

7. Retention

BrowseMind keeps data only as needed for product functionality and trend analysis, and may remove oldest data automatically to stay within local storage constraints.

8. Children

BrowseMind is not directed to children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted with a new effective date.
